REGISTER NOW FOR REC BASKETBALL – After much discussion, we are pleased to announce that we will be organizing a Rec Basketball League in 2020-2021. The League will look and feel a lot different than previous years, but we are at least attempting to provide a fun basketball outlet for Blue Mountain resident students in grades 3-12.

Due to limited facility availability and health and safety protocols, the league will be split into two six-week seasons.

Divisions competing from December 5-January 16 will include:

  •          3rd Grade Co-Ed

  •          4th-5th Grade Boys

  •          4th-6th Grade Girls

Divisions competing from January 23-March 6 will include:

  •          6th-8th Grade Boys

  •          7th-12th Grade Girls

  •          9th-12th Grace Boys

Each team will have one weeknight practice and a game on Saturday morning/afternoon. Each Division will be limited to the first 40 kids to sign up (no exceptions). Cost to participate is $40 and you must be a Blue Mountain School District resident.  You can register now online at the following link:

The deadline to register for the three younger divisions is November 30, and the deadline to register for the three older divisions is January 18 (or until filled). However, with limited space available in each division, we strongly encourage everyone to register as early as possible to ensure your spot in the league. If you are on the active roster for the junior high basketball team, the freshmen basketball team or the JV/Varsity basketball team, you will not be eligible to play in the Rec league.

If school is closed or shut down due to COVID-related reasons, no basketball will take place during that time. All basketball activities this year will held at the Memorial, the East Elementary and the Middle School. Unfortunately, there will be no 1st and 2nd grade instructional basketball this season. The health and safety of our players and coaches are our top priority, so if things change in the weeks ahead and we are forced to modify the program or cancel the season, we will offer refunds to your account.

Also, volunteer/parent coaches are needed to assist with the league.  If you are interested in helping out this year, please provide the requested information during your online registration. You will then need to submit a volunteer coach registration form and submit copies of your State Clearances to the Recreation Office.
