To help people become better connected to the outdoors and to help them to grow their appreciation for the protection of our special places, the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) began expanding its recreational programs and events in state parks and forests through Get Outdoors PA. E
Connect people with the outdoors through Pennsylvania’s public lands;
Inspire environmental conservation, stewardship and healthy living;
Encourage physical activity through outdoor recreation;
Deliver quality outdoor recreation opportunities to the public through best practice models;
Increase the number of quality outdoor recreation programs in Pennsylvania;
Develop public-private partnerships encouraging economic growth in a sustainable way;
The Outdoor Eagles Club meets after school one Monday per month and is open to students in grades 1-5. East students meet in the Art room from 3:30pm – 4:45pm, Cressona students meet in the Cafeteria from 3:30pm – 4:45pm (West/St. Ambrose can attend the club at Cressona).
All necessary equipment is provided, and we will be outdoors if the weather permits.
You may send a snack with your child to have during club time.
Cost is $8 per topic – Get a $5 discount when registering for 3 or more topics!

2/10/20 2/24/20 Fitness Challenge – monitor heart rate and body temp while completing easy fitness obstacle courses
3/23/20 3/30/20 Seed Bombs – learn about plants, seeds, and soil and make clay seed bombs to plant in your garden
4/20/20 4/27/20 Build a Bug – collect bugs and learn about their roles in nature, and build an edible bug out of fruit
5/11/20 5/18/20 Blast off into Summer – help build and launch model rockets while learning about flight and space
