Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga will run for 6 weeks beginning March 25th through May 6th (No Class on April 15th)
Chair yoga is designed to be a low impact exercise, where participants will use a chair for balance and support. Utilizing body weight as a guide, we will bend, stretch, and sweat to some fun upbeat music!
Postures will consist of sitting on the chair or standing near it. Participants will not be laying on the floor.  There will be a brief meditation after each session. Meditation is a fantastic source of stress relief that anyone can practice anytime!
REQUIRED ATTIRE: Participants must wear appropriate clothing each week. Shorts/ pants, T-shirts, socks and sneakers would best suit the participants. The Recreation Commission runs its programs under the safest possible conditions. Participants are urged to carry some type of medical coverage, in the event of accident. Classes will run up to six weeks. Bringing a water bottle is recommended.
PLEASE NOTE: The Blue Mountain Recreation Commission will not refund registration fees.

Aquatic Exercise

The Blue Mountain Recreation Commission will sponsor its popular Aquatic Exercise classes again this Class will be held on Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the Middle School Pool.  Classes will be held for(8) weeks and 16 classes

This Aquatic Exercise program will be designed to enhance total body conditioning without stress to soft tissue of the body. The buoyancy and cooling effect of the water allows the participant to enjoy exercising with less stress on the joints. Class will work on both upper & lower body +conditioning & endurance. Emphasis will be placed on movement for fitness and fun, not on skill, and the program will be undertaken at one’s own level of endurance mostly in the shallow end of the pool. THERE IS NO NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SWIM TO PARTICIPATE.  Participants are required to complete the health/medical question prior to participating in this class.  Please Note: The Blue Mountain Recreation Commission will not refund registration fees for Commission activities.

Dog Obedience
Classes will start April 8th. Classes are held on Wednesday evenings starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Blue Mountain Middle School. Classes will continue for seven (7) weeks. Masters should be at least 14 years old to participate. Note: depending on the number of participants, classes may be divided into two - hour long classes; one starting at 6:00 p.m. and the other starting at 7:00 p.m.
NOTE: Only masters/handlers should report for the first class - do not bring your dog to this first class. Please bring your dog’s vaccination record with you on the first night of class.
